I Am Pregnant

On that fateful cold night, I was alone in my room with the gentle hands of cold wind swinging my curtains.

Thank God for my phone and pillow, they were my nearest companion in that dark room. I was almost going to sleep on the boring movie I was watching when my phone rang.

Are you home? she asked, I raced through all factors to determine the answer to give her, then she asked, can I come? I stammered while I gave her a yes.

I was avoiding her because the last time we met in this kind of circumstance, we did what we should not have done. I didn't want a repeat of that event so, I was careful with her.
We both agreed that we will steer clear of that kind of mistake.

As I ended that call, I quickly checked my calendar, to see the date of the month it was. Chelsea’s ovulation period was always around that time.

We are very close, so I know almost every single detail about her.

We grew up together as kids, she always play the role of the mother in the children's drama while I am always her husband. We grew fond of each other.

Chelsea had grown into a beautiful ebony-skinned damsel. Her beauty grows more each day. Every guy in our street admired her and gets jealous each time I walk proudly with the beautiful damsel of the street.

I flicked out of my bed as I hear the gentle double tap on my wooden door. I knew it was her. She wouldn't want to hurt her soft palm or stress her sweet tiny voice.

I opened the door, and my guess was correct. She walked in as if she was in a pageantry competition, shaking all the flesh on her body.

She immediately found her way to the kitchen and then to the bath. That's her tradition with me. She came out of the bathroom with a skimpy see-through nightie.

I fought every effort to look at her, until her soft hands, caressed the strands of my relaxed hair. In a twinkle of an eye, she pushes me to the bed.

My heart skipped and was beating faster than Usain Bolt. She pulled my shirt and whispered into my ears " I am......." she couldn’t complete the statement, as She ran to the toilet to ease herself. I heard her vomiting and pushing out stuff from her mouth.

Is she pregnant? I asked myself. The thought of it destabilized me. My whole past, present, and future flashed in my eyes.

I was not ready to be a father yet, I was not ready to give up my dream and channel my energy to raising a child. I was fidgeting and the reality of a cold-weather dawned on me. It was just a one-time mistake with her.

She came back smiling while I was waiting for the boom to explode. Uncertain of what she was about to tell me, I just pray that she was not pregnant because I will have to carry the responsibility.

Guess what!!!!!! She was just going to say, " I am having a runny stomach and your body spray made me vomit”

The stone was rolled away and I came back alive. I had to ease the tension with the remaining CHINMARK sharwama, which I kept in the fridge.

The experience from that CHINMARK sharwama was enough to calm my nerves…
